Urban Misogyny explores how injustice and violence against women are rooted in the widespread portrayal of women as passive objects.
This is especially visible in media and advertising. Billboards and posters dominate public spaces, becoming part of our daily lives. Over time, they shape how men view women, and how women view themselves. This photo series highlights the stark contrast between real women and the unattainable ideals imposed by mainstream beauty standards.
The work has been exhibited at the Rag Factory in London and Shipley Underground Market, and collected in a printed booklet.
